You don’t need any special equipment, you don’t need anything particularly to get you into the sport, it’s just getting to your local swimming pool where there would be a coach or someone who can teach you to swim and you’re getting yourself swimming. That’s the most important thing.”
Chris Furber the National Performance Director for Para-Swimming, chooses these words to describe the sport he is passionate about - despite it not being the only one - and that he’s trying to improve every year. Having spent 13 years at British cycling as the lead coach of the GB team for two Paralympics games, Furber decided it was time for him to take up a challenge and put himself into something new.
